PORT ST. LUCIE — A Miami-developer plans to build a 372-unit rental apartment complex in Tradition Commerce Center.

The City Council on Nov. 4 approved selling 19.4 acres to AHS Residential LLC for $4.8 million. The property will house four or five story buildings just south of Southwest Discovery Way, along Village Parkway.

Construction is expected to start in the second quarter of 2020 and be completed by 2021, according to a news release about the project.

Rent will start at about $1,000 for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment and $1,250 for a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit.

AHS will be responsible for building a stormwater-retention pond that would be used by neighbor Oculus Surgical, according to city records.
